Spiced Homemade Pita Chips

These homemade pita chips are perfect with your favorite dips during an afternoon snack! Great when you’re craving for that savory snack!

Spiced Homemade Pita Chips combine pita bread, flavorful spices, and a crispy texture for the perfect snack. Pita chips are a delicious side dish that is easy to make.

Pita bread is cut into triangles, brushed with olive oil, and sprinkled with salt. When they are placed on a baking tray, they should be broiled for 8-10 minutes.

These chips are great for dipping or enjoying on their own.

Customize them with your favorite spices to add an extra kick.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 Pita bread
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil as needed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes, optional
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper, as desired (Note: I used a teaspoon each of salt and pepper.)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 °F.

2. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, paprika, red chili flakes, oregano, salt and pepper.

3. Set combined dry ingredients aside.

4. Use a pizza cutter to cut your pitas in 6-8 equal triangles, cutting it like a pizza.

5. Brush each pita chip with olive oil and sprinkle with the prepared seasoning mix.

6. You can apply the oil and seasoning on one or both sides of the pita using a pastry brush.

7. Place the spiced pita chips on an ungreased baking sheet.

8. Bake for 8-10 minutes until oil is absorbed and baked chips are golden brown.

9. Serve with your favorite dip and enjoy your pita pocket!
