How to Cook Jalapeño Popper Chicken

Everyone’s favorite appetizer, chicken combined with the flavors of jalapeño poppers. Definitely a great appetizer to serve for any season.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 lbs cooked chicken, baked or fried
  • 4 slices of bacon, cut into small chunks
  • 1 tbs all-purpose flour
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 3 jalapenos, halved, seeded, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • salt & pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. While the chicken is baking, add bacon to a medium-size saucepan over medium heat. Cook until almost crispy. Then add garlic, jalapeño, and flour. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes.
  2.  Reduce the temperature to low and stir the milk, cream cheese, paprika, cayenne, and cumin into the pot. Whisk and cook the mixture over medium heat until it begins to thicken. Turn off the heat and constantly whisk until the mixture reaches a boil. Remove from the heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place sauce on the side to serve with your chicken, or you can toss in the prepared sauce and enjoy!
