I kid you not, this Caprese dip, combining fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil, will be the easiest delicious appetizer you’ll ever make! I’ve been on a pesto and Caprese kick lately.

Between having a Caprese salad with bacon for lunch, Caprese chicken, or pesto chicken roll-ups for dinner, I needed an appetizer to cure the craving too!

This baked Caprese dip hits the spot, and with only 3 ingredients and no mixing, it is beyond simple!

And so absurdly good. I’ve made it a few times now for family, and I get comments on it every time. No one can ever believe how simple it is to make this recipe!

Caprese Dip Ingredients and Directions

  • 8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened
  • Jar of prepared pesto
  • pint of cherry tomatoes

I mean, you don’t even need to prep the dish first or anything!

Just spread the softened cream cheese or you can use Greek Cream Cheese on the bottom of a pie dish or casserole dish.

Then top it with the pesto. I never really measure this, I just make sure there’s a generous layer. You don’t want it to be too thick because pesto in itself is a strong flavor, but you shouldn’t be able to see the Greek cream cheese the whole way through it either.

Then cut your juicy fresh tomatoes in half lengthwise and place them over the entire top of the dip. I like to place cut side up so that the seeds don’t drain down into the dip and get it watery.

Then throw it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. You want to see that the cream cheese is starting to melt and brown a tiny bit on the edges.

And that is it, my friends!

Enjoy this dip with crackers, pita chips, baguette slices, veggies or crostini, or any of your favorite crackers! And enjoy you will because of its extra flavor it is sooo good! The only thing that would make it better is if you drizzled it with a balsamic glaze after it was done cooking!
