A classic summer cocktail, Tequila Sunrise is a fun orange juice based cocktail with a splash of grenadine! It’s a delicious drink that’s gorgeous to look at too!
If there’s a drink that screams “summer at the beach” to me, it’s a tequila sunrise!
Even the name of it makes me remember sunrises while I sit on the beach with not a care in the world.
Luckily, these are incredibly easy to make at home so you don’t need to worry about the club cocktail high prices at bars. And a homemade cocktail means you can control the amount of each ingredient too, to make it just how you like it!
How to Make a Tequila Sunrise
Ingredients:
- Tequila
- Orange juice
- Grenadine
- Ice Cubes
Directions:
Fill a glass with ice cubes and then add 4 ounces of tequila and 8 ounces of orange juice. Stir to combine really well.
And the next part is really the only part that is an actual direction for this recipe.
To get that cool effect of the reddish/orange part at the bottom. You know, the part that resembles the sunrise… hold a spoon towards the side of the glass and then pour the grenadine over the back of the spoon so that it runs along the side of the glass.
This will help the grenadine settle at the bottom rather than just getting lost in the middle.
As it settles at the bottom, it will naturally start rising up the sides and blend in with the orange juice.
Now my husband likes to go and stir at this point which just looks like a muddled red mess. I love the way it looks on its own and never stir it. Keep it looking like a sunset for me!
