Orange Margaritas combine fresh orange juice with tequila for a refreshing summer cocktail. These margaritas are dangerously smooth and go down so easily!
They’re simple to make and perfect for hot summer days.
We don’t keep much alcohol at home, but we always have the ingredients for margaritas. With so many delicious variations, it’s hard to resist!
Ingredients for Margaritas
The main ingredients for margaritas are tequila and triple sec.

Triple sec is a sweet liqueur that is used in all kinds of cocktails like sangria, long island iced teas, cosmopolitans and margaritas!
It’s a pretty key ingredient for margaritas and very inexpensive, so don’t skip it!
After the tequila and triple sec, your other ingredients are going to depend on what flavor of margarita you want to make. Lime is a pretty common ingredient no matter what the main flavor of your margarita is.
For this version we went with… drumroll, please… ORANGE!
It’s refreshing and something we nearly always have on-hand since my husband loves his juice in the morning.
Salting the Rim of Your Glass
I’m going to be honest, I prefer to sugar the rim of my margarita glass but I know salt is the most popular. In my pictures, that’s coarse sugar you’re looking at (hence the thick rim).
Whether you choose salt or sugar, the process is the same.
Pour the salt or sugar into a small dish. Cut a wedge out of your lime and run it along the rim of your glass.
Then, flip your glass upside down into the dish and press to coat it.
