Appetizers make great options for party food. But even appetizers can be difficult to make if you’re short on time. That’s why it’s always a good idea to have a few quick and easy party food ideas up your sleeve for those times when you need a fast dish that’s packed with flavor and perfect for any get-together.

A salami roll is an appetizing way to serve meat that consists of thinly sliced pieces of salami or ham that are rolled up with cheese and veggies. It can be made ahead of time and stored in the freezer for up to three months.

This article will give you step by step instructions on how to make this flavorful dish. If you are hosting a party, it’s a great alternative to having all of your guests wait around the stove while you cook.

Ingredients:

  • 24 slices of salami
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup banana peppers, finely chopped

Because these quick and easy appetizers use just three ingredients, you can whip them up in a matter of minutes! To make salami roll-ups, you’ll need:

  • Slice of salami – Thinly sliced salami is essential for this recipe. But you can use any flavor of salami you want. Whether you enjoy spicy salami or mild meat, you can use your favorite cut to make these easy low carb roll-ups.
  • Cream cheese – To help hold your roll-ups together, a package cream cheese is a must. Make sure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature to ensure it’s easy to spread and roll.
  • Banana peppers – Add some extra flavor to your roll-ups with the help of banana peppers. These flavorful peppers add a hint of spice to your pinwheels, making them a delicious appetizer option.

Directions

These low carb pinwheels couldn’t be easier to make!

1. To start, you’ll need a flat layer of salami slices. Make sure each slice overlaps slightly with the one next to it in order to keep your roll-ups from coming apart as you roll. To make bite-size pinwheels, I suggest creating two different rolls. Each roll will be made up of three rows of four slices of salami.

2. After laying out your meat, spread a thick layer of your cream cheese mixture over the top of both sections of salami, making sure the cream cheese covers all the meat slices.

3. Next, take a minute to finely chop your banana peppers to ensure that there aren’t any big chunks of pepper in your pinwheels.

4. Then, sprinkle the chopped peppers over the top of the cream cheese in an even layer.

5. To create the roll-ups, begin rolling from one end of the meat layer, carefully rolling the meat over onto itself.

6. Continue rolling until you have a log-shape, then cover the meat and cheese with plastic wrap.

7. Chill the entire salami rectangle for at least an hour.

8. When the roll-up has chilled and the cream cheese had hardened, you can begin slicing your pinwheels. Make one-inch slices in the roll, then place a frilly toothpick on top to hold the roll-ups together.

9. Keep the pinwheels chilled until you’re ready to serve them.
