Ingredients

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped (green parts only)
  • 1 can (6.5 ounces) minced clams, drained with juice reserved
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon clam juice (from the can)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce (or your favorite hot sauce)
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Mix Cream Cheese

  • Start by mixing the cream cheese in a medium bowl with a fork until soft and creamy. 

Step 2: Add Condiments

  • Blend in 1 tablespoon of clam juice, 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. 

Step 3: Stir In Minced Clams

  • Stir in the 2 cups of minced clams and finely chopped green onions. 

Step 4: Add Tabasco Sauce

  • Next, add Tabasco sauce to desired consistency and taste. If the mixture is too thick, gradually mix in the remaining clam juice until the desired creaminess is achieved.

Step 5: Chill and Serve

  • Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an early morning event, consider serving this clam dip as part of a seaside-inspired brunch. Pair it with bagels and a sprinkle of 2 cups chopped parsley for a breakfast twist on this classic appetizer.
