Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken Breast cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 cup Cornstarch
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. Green Onions chopped

Marinade

  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 2 tsp. Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Rice Wine
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce

Instructions

  • Mix all of the marinade ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine. Add chicken pieces to marinade and stir to combine. Let sit for 30 minutes.
  • In another bowl, add egg and beat with a fork. When chicken is done marinating, drain the excess marinade and add the chicken pieces to the beaten egg. Toss the chicken in the egg to coat.
  • Add cornstarch to bowl with chicken and toss well to coat completely.
  • In a wok, heat oil over medium high heat. There should be enough oil that the chicken is completely covered. When the oil is hot, add the chicken in batches and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from wok and place on paper towel to drain. Repeat with remaining chicken until is all cooked.
  • When chicken is done cooking, drain oil from the wok. Return all chicken to the pan and toss to heat through evenly. Remove from heat and toss with salt and pepper. Sprinkled with chopped green onions.
