Episode 31: Say Goodbye to Dieting – Nourish to Flourish Framework with Kati VanLoo

Finding balance in six key biophyschosocial spheres can help us reframe our wellness journey and find true health and happiness.

On today’s podcast, Sarah talks with Kati VanLoo, holistic health and nutrition coach, and founder of the Nourish to Flourish framework on how women can ditch dieting, reduce stress and discover true wellness.

Nourish to Flourish Framework

Kati created the Nourish to Flourish framework to help women ditch restrictive diet culture and rebuild their health from the inside out. Her passion for helping others gain a better sense of who they are aside from what they eat stems from her own story of restrictive eating, working too much and exercising even more.

After reaching burnout, Kati knew things had to change and shifted her attention to learning about nutrition and how our biopshychosocial environment impacts our wellness. She created the Nourish to Flourish framework from this passion and now has a 90-day group coaching program that helps women burn more fat, increase energy and decrease stress without sacrificing foods they love.

In the podcast, Kati graciously gave us a behind the scene peek into living our best self by following this Nourish to Flourish framework:

  1. Discover Your Why + Goal Setting
No loose why’s allowed, strong why’s encouraged!
  2. Nutrition
Our value is much more than our weight, how we can learn about nutrition and delete those calorie counting apps once and for all.
  3. Realistic Nutrition in Practice
Finding a balance of nutrition that leads to a sustainable way of eating.
  4. Hydration
A good rule to know how much water to approximately drink is to divide your body weight in pounds by 2 and then add ounces to that – aim for that number daily. (example 120 divided by 2 = 60, drink 60 oz of water)
  5. Movement
Move to benefit your metabolism and longevity!
  6. Immunity
    Let food be thy medicine.
  7. Stress Management + Cognitive Health
Routines can help you stay grounded, focused and clear-headed.
  8. Sleep + Recovery
Rest is important and when your body can heal.
  9. Mindset + Mindfulness
Make a ‘to be’ list for the day!
