Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 4-6 large fresh lemons)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • sliced lemons, for garnish (optional)
  • whipped cream, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Begin by preparing the fresh lemonade. In a pitcher, pour 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Mix in 2 cups of cold water to the lemonade mixture and stir well. Refrigerate to chill, ensuring the lemonade is very cold before proceeding.
  • In a blender, add 3 cups of creamy vanilla ice cream and 2 cups of the chilled homemade lemonade. If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can adjust the amount of lemonade accordingly.
  • Secure the lid on the blender and blend the ingredients on high speed for about 30 seconds, or until the mixture achieves a smooth and creamy texture.
  • To serve, pour the frosted lemonade into glasses and enjoy immediately. If desired, garnish with a slice of lemon and a dollop of whipped cream for an extra touch of indulgence.

Notes

Two Ways to Make It: For the from-scratch version, make the homemade lemonade first, then mix 2 cups of it with 3 cups of vanilla ice cream. You’ll have a little lemonade left over to enjoy or save for another batch.
For the quick 2-ingredient shortcut, skip the homemade lemonade and blend 2 cups of cold store-bought lemonade with 3 cups of vanilla ice cream until smooth and creamy.
  • Seasonal fruits can add a unique twist; consider blending in strawberries or peaches for a summer variation.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar, or experiment with natural sweeteners like honey or agave syrup.
