- 2 oz Jose Cuervo Tequila Blanco, or your favorite tequila
- 1 oz Triple Sec
- 3 oz Sour mix
- 1 oz Orange Juice
- 1 oz Amaretto
- Sugar, for the rim
- Lime Slices, for garnish
- Orange Slices, for garnish
- Ice Cubes
To make a sugar rim: Cut two slices of lime. Set one slice aside for garnish. Rub the other slice around the rim of the margarita glass. Pour some sugar in a dish and dip the wet margarita rim into the sugar to coat the rim.
In a cocktail shaker, fill it halfway with ice, then combine tequila, triple sec, sour mix, and orange juice.
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously to blend the ingredients properly.
Fill the margarita glass with ice cubes and pour the blended mixture over the ice.
Pour the amaretto over the top of the margarita. (Leave it floating on top or mix it into the drink).
Garnish the glass with lime and orange slices.

Homemade Sour Mix Recipe: (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- Mix the granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once all the sugar has dissolved, take it off the heat and let the mixture cool.
- Once cool, mix it with the fresh lemon and lime juice.
- Store the mixture in a closed bottle in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
