Fried Bananas

Fried bananas, or banana frita, are pan fried in butter and sugar to make a delicious dessert topping that makes its own syrup. Best served over vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas very firm, sliced
  • 2 tsp. Butter
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar

Instructions

  • In a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add sliced bananas and fry, stirring occasionally so they're coated in butter. About 2-3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle sugar over bananas and continue frying, stirring occasionally so the sugar melts but doesn't burn. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and serve warm over vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

Notes

Can sprinkle with cinnamon after removing from heat.
