Ingredients
1.5cupsWaterwarm, 100-110 degrees F
1.5tsp.Active Dry Yeast
2tsSugar
1tspSalt
4.5cupsBread Flour
1TbspButtermelted
1tsp.Garlic Powder
2tspItalian Seasoning
1/2cupMonterey Jack Cheeseshredded
1/2cupParmesan Cheeseshredded
Instructions
In a mixing bowl on a stand mixer, combine the water and yeast and allow to sit for 10 minutes to dissolve. Add the sugar, salt and flour; attach the dough hook and knead for 10 minutes on low to medium speed.
Turn the dough out onto your work surface and cut the dough into 4 equal parts.Shape each piece into a log of bread.
Place each log of dough on a parchment lined cookie sheet, making sure to leave about 4 inches of space between each log. Cover with a kitchen towel and allow the dough to rise for about 40 minutes in a warm place or until the dough is about double in size.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Uncover the dough and cut 3 shallow slices in the tops of each one using a sharp knife. Brush with melted butter and then sprinkle evenly with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Divide cheeses evenly among top of each one. Bake in the middle rack for 20-25 minutes, until the bread is golden brown. Transfer the bread to a metal rack to cool.
Notes
You can use all-purpose flour in place of the bread flour, however you will get a slightly higher rise with bread flour.
